Visual Identity and Art Direction for shopkeepers association B&LW (Bos en Lommerweg)
Identity title: Styles and voices
We set out to design not just one single static logo because there were many styles and voices to represent.
Instead, we decided to rethink the logo several times and create different versions of it. This way it allows the identity to function through text and type, speaking to as many people as possible.
To accompany the wordlogo we created a colorful illustration library that represents the Bos en Lommerweg (shopping)street, the variety of shops and every day life in this vibrant Amsterdam West district. The origin of the illustrations can be found in the physical shoppingstreet itself. From the branding of a (local) shop, to the traces left behind by its visitors.
We did not want to create to many rules for using this visual identity. The colour pallet is as varied as the logo and illustration library. Playful use of all these different elements is key.
